Examples of some of the bedrooms for B&B at the Inn on Castro
I met with the owners of the Inn on Castro who made me feel very welcome, it was friendly and I had just flown for 21 hours, a drinking chocolate was made for me, which was heaven after such a long flight. Breakfast was nice, plenty of selection for any type of diet, I had cerials and blueberry juice, but could have had a fried breakfast if I had wanted one. Breakfast is from 8 am until 10 am which is a nice time for most people, I stayed at the B&B prior to my surgery, then when I came out of hospital went to the apartment below

Breafast is served daily from 8am until 10am with a huge choice for all tastes Vegetarians catered for

The Inn on Castro is situated in the gay part of San Fransisco, there are lesbian bars and gay bars close by, the Inn on Castro is gay owned and friendly. The above is the sitting room in the B&B section of the building, I personally found the environment a pleasant place to stay. Below is the apartment I stayed in, they have many apartments available for rent.

My apartment showing the terrace garden and entrance to my bedroom
This was the apartment I stayed in, it is lovely, plenty of hot water for bathing and showering, it has a full kitchen area with everything you would need on a vacation. I was lucky as you can see, I had the terrace garden, this was lovely to just sit outside and read in the sunshine. It was February, but lovely and warm to sit outside, the apartment has good heating for the evenings when it did get chilly. The red plant in the photograph are in the garden on the side, they were beautiful and interesting whatever they were, gave the garden a summer feel. The aparment is large and very spacious, so you lots of room to move around, it is American in that you can walk around the whole house as all the rooms interconnect.
LAPTOP
I had a laptop and had problems with the wireless connection, I am from Europe so think there may have been some incompatibilty, but I managed to just jump direct into the network cable so it wasnt a problem, I believe if you Laptop is American it is easy to sort, you will need a b driver if your from Europe for your wireless, so sort it before you leave to make it easy for yourself. |
